Hóčha a good way to speak Lakota is through games. Maybe a few words or some sentences. A few years back
Tȟápa kiŋ napȟápȟa uŋk'úŋpi (We played Dodgeball) - I don't know if that is correct or not but I try :!: I called out to my side tȟápa/ball, mak'ú na / give it to me, wašté / good,taŋyáŋ ečhánuŋ,well done,áta nikhíli / you are awesome and a few more. After a few games everyone had got the meaning not by me saying the English but through hand gestures :!:
Another game I like is the shopping game. You repeat the list of items and add a new one and the next person does the same.
Wíčazo waŋ é na wówapi waŋ é na wíyuhomni waŋ opȟewatȟuŋ.
I bought a pencil and a book and a screwdriver.
Or another version is -
Oákaŋke na wáglutapi na wípažužu na wáta na hiípažaža waŋží opȟewatȟuŋ kte.
I will buy a chair and a table and an eraser and a boat and a toothbrush.
Instead of someone being kicked out of the game if they forget an item everyone mimes it :burst: .If everyone is miming hiípažaža/toothbrush it gets pretty funny and you're not likely to forget the word any time soon :!:
Tókša :)
