This is such sad news that Daniel tells us. Deepest sympathy to all the family, friends and community of
Delores and Philomine. They held true to their Lakota Values and language and contributed such a lot and we will remember them with gratitude.

I express my sincere condolences to Delores and Philomine friends and families.
These ladies have done so much for the Lakota language! They will not be forgotten.

The Lakota nation will sure miss these two ladies whose contribution to the language preservation and promulgation was crucial to its survival. Hopefully their legacy will continue to flourish among the new generations. We wish them both a peaceful journey.
