A Christmas gift of reading and discussion:
Niglíču…She Comes Out Alive…A Story of Wounded Knee has been posted as a New Book for over a year now. More than 32,000 people have viewed the post. Close to 18,000 people have viewed my co- author’s obituary posted here.(Oscar Wybrant…Forum user name: Gnugnúska: post: Gnugnúska passes into eternity). It is my obvious wish that people read this well researched book. It is not perfect. No retelling of history can be and that’s OK. A good book invites questioning. It invites controversy if the facts are contrary to what has become commonly accepted. It initiates discussion and this book, in particular, can be used to bridge the gap between generations and cultures as it brings to life a historical period that needs remembering. Read the book. Discuss its truths and correct its misconceptions. Because this book has been written in good faith with no expectation of monetary success, this author is more than willing to listen if the fictional retelling of the story is glaringly inadequate, or inaccurate.
